Got up early so we could head to the peak, but first we had to pack and check out (check out was noon, and we didn’t know if we’d be back by then, so we got it over with).

Saying bye to Jimmy
But then he walked us to the ferry, and said bye again
Caught the ferry across to HK Island, and met up with our friends/classmates at the Peak tram. THEN, in response to my suggestion that everyone put their return ticket in a safe place, Sarah said “mine’s next to my passport” and an alarm went off in my head, because Jenny and I had left our passports in the hotel room’s safe. As much as I expected them to still be there, or be found by the staff, it was still a worry, so the two of us bailed on the peak and headed back to the YMCA. Our passports were at the front desk. Whew. Now with some time to kill, we walked around and took pictures and bought a few souvenirs.
Inside the Peninsula Hotel
We had lunch at TGIFriday’s (we weren’t in the mood to be adventurous with a plane ride in our near future) then met up with the rest of the crew at the hotel, to take the bus to the airport. Low and behold, our flight was CANCELLED, so we have to take a later one. The girls all bought books in the airport store, and we ate at an Italian restaurant. Although upon finding a Popeye’s and another Ben & Jerry’s, there were mashed potatoes and single scoops to be had.
Ended up reading an entire book on the plane (flight was about 2 1/2 hours), but I have another one. Guide was there to take us back to the hotel, not home until about 11:00 pm. Probably won’t make it to class on time.
