Ride to the airport, with some well deserved Zapps
(Sarah’s mother brought them when she visited)
For those of you who are unaware (or don‘t remember) I have a cousin who has been living in China for several years. He is currently in Shenzhen, which was unfortunately nowhere near any of the cities I was set to visit. So I opted for a weekend excursion to Hong Kong, and asked if anyone else would like to join me. Five other people did, so six of us flew to Hong Kong on Friday evening, and checked into the YMCA (an actual hotel).

My cousin Jimmy met us at the hotel, and presented me with some Tibetan prayer flags. Then we decided to find dinner, and started at Chungking Mansions. The lower levels are a market, so we were again bombarded with vendors trying to show us their wares (only this time it was mostly Middle Eastern people, instead of Chinese. We picked an Indian Restaurant from the guidebook (it’s like 9 for 9 at this point) but the place we picked couldn’t fit a party of 7. But they had another branch, so we were led down a hallway, down some stairs, through an alley, up some stairs, and into another restaurant. There we got a table, ordered some food (chicken khorma for me!) and had a delicious meal.

Afterwards we walked the pier and the Avenue of the Stars, which is similar to to Hollywood, in that it has stars with famous actors, sometimes handprints.

We opted for an early night in, since we figured there would be a lot of ground to cover tomorrow.
